BAYTOWNE GOLF CLUB AT SANDESTIN (Sandestin)

Rated 4 stars Rating based on (5) customer reviews

Resort Stay & Play

"After carving the masterpiece called The Links Course, Tom Jackson returned to Sandestin to develop the course we call Baytowne Golf Club. As Jackson himself says, "Each hole has a personality all its own." And that's what makes this course so special. The front nine boasts a 3,300 yard, heavily bunkered, pine tree-lined layout. The back nine treats you to vistas only available in Northwest Florida, with the Gulf of Mexico to the south and the Choctawhatchee Bay to the north. With reverence to the land on which it was built and the architect's understanding of how to challenge a player, Baytowne meets all the criteria of a truly great course." ~From Sandestin Golf

When golfers talk about Sandestin, there is no shortage of superlatives, but here is a unique bit of trivia. Legend has it that more than 130 years ago, a Scottish sea captain buried a treasure chest at the base of a pine tree charred by lightning. That particular treasure was never found, but today, on the same land, there is a treasure for all to enjoy. Burnt Pine Golf Club is famed architect Rees Jones' award-winning contribution to Sandestin's world-caliber golf. Twice ranked one of the "Top 30 Golf Courses in Florida" by Golf Digest and the "Crown Jewel of Florida Golf" by Golf Magazine, this course stretches nearly 7,000 yards through majestic towering pines. Burnt Pine is both a strategic masterpiece and breathtaking beauty, a course you will never forget." ~From Sandestin Golf~

THE LINKS COURSE AT SANDESTIN (Sandestin)

Rated 3 stars Rating based on (5) customer reviews

Resort Stay & Play

Since 1973, The Links Course at Sandestin has been one of Northwest Florida's most exciting golf courses. Designed by renowned architect Tom Jackson, the layout follows the natural contours of the land and provides "awe-inspiring" views of the both the Baytowne Marina and the Choctawhatchee Bay. However, don't let yourself get too distracted by the views. There's water on 13 holes, so you'd better pay attention to the task at hand or your handicap will be in jeopardy. In particular, be alert on the par-five ninth -- a beautiful 536-yard hole running along the Choctawhatchee.
